Christ is RISEN! Resurrection Sunday 2018
Happy Resurrection Day! Resurrection or Easter, whatever you call it, without this day our faith is rootless. Jesus' resurrection is the mark of prophecies being fulfilled, and our lives - lives of those who believe in Him, being made everlasting, even after death.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." John 11:25-26
"If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching and your faith is in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:13-14
And how do we know that resurrection actually happened? Here's the evidence,
- The tomb was empty with grave clothes in it
- Over 500 witnesses saw Him at one time
- They touched His physical body
- They saw His crucifixion scars
- They ate with Him four times
- He taught them for 40 days
- He did miracles for them
- He transformed them
All of these prove that our Savior rose from the dead, and is living, and that our faith indeed is not in vain! Jesus' resurrection has power.
By the Power of Resurrection :
- The Lost are Found
- The Found are Freed
- The Freed are Connected
- The Connected are Commissioned
Therefore, by this Power there is:
- Purpose (Rom 8:28)
- Liberty (Gal 5:13)
- Peace (1 Cor 7:15)
- Fellowship (1 Cor 1:9)
- His Kingdom and Glory (1 Th. 2:12)
- Eternal Life (1 Tim 6:12)
- Glory and Virtue (11 Pet 1:3)
- Blessing (II Peter 3:9)
All this we receive because of the overflowing, selfless, and everlasting love that God has for us. He loves us so much that He sent his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
If we have truly experienced God's love, let us focus on Him and want to know Him that loves us so. Let us count everything but knowing Christ a loss. And let go of anything that is hindering us from being found in Christ, our living saviour. As Paul writes in Philippians 3:10-11,
"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead."
Let us, too,
Want to know Christ
Want know the power of his resurrection
Want to participate in his sufferings,
Want to become like him in his death,
Want to attain the resurrection from the dead.
Now that we know the Power of Resurrection, let us move to the next step and participate in His suffering, becoming like him in his death, and so that we also, like Christ, as ones who believe and know him, attain resurrection from the dead.
Have a Blessed Week, for Our Savior lives!
